The FERRARI 458 Spider was conceived for enjoyment, comfort and luxury. Inspired by the F1 single-seaters it was conceived thinking about aerodynamic efficiency, to reduce air resistance and increase load (downforce), being the first convertible car with a central rear engine (V8 of 570 HP) and folding hardtop. Behind the seats, a glass deflector guarantees, according to Ferrari, that you can hold a conversation at 200 km/h when driving this model without its top, so you only need 20 seconds, the time to remove the roof automatically, to test it.

The Spider is not one of the most demanding models: you can even drive it on asphalt with little grip thanks to its pre-configurations in the "Racing manettino" (wet, sport and race). The safety and comfort of this model is one of its highlights. A system of oscillating arms achieves a magnificent capacity of absorbing potholes, improves and increases the transversal rigidity and consequently its performance on the asphalt. The 458 Spider's high-performance control software offers super-fast response times between all traction, grip, acceleration and stability systems, even with the F1-Trac (Sport-Race) activated. The magnetic suspension control reacts with the ECU software and the sports shock absorbers in milliseconds, providing more precision and control with irregularities in the road. All this together with its big and powerful carboceramic brakes (front 398 x 233 x 36mm and a bit smaller at the rear) manage to stop this Ferrari at 100 km/h in 33 meters (or 200 km/h in 128.5 meters).
The 458 Spider is a little slower in speed than its brother, the 458 Italia, but not in acceleration.
